T-75-Lindsey Long, 1B, Texas Glory – Naudin
Lindsey missed almost all of last summer after being hit on the hand by a pitch that broke a bone and tore a ligament forcing her into a seven-month rehab, but she’s come back with a vengeance to where she’s crushing the ball again or, as one coach put it: “the kid just wails on the ball.” A 6-foot lefty first baseman, she travels from West Lafayette, Indiana regularly to practice and play with Ed Naudin’s team and she’s quickly made her presence known after joining the 16U team in December. “She’s worked hard during her recovery, making adjustments that will generate more power and consistency in her swing and she’s absolutely crushing the ball,” said her hitting instructor, Rick Stiner, from ProXAthlete in Westfield, Indiana. Lindsey wrote a blog for Extra Inning when her USA team won an international tournament in Taiwan in January. She has drawn attention and interest from Big 12, SEC, Big Ten, MVC and Ivy League schools.
