Ted Flannery’s Thunderbolts 04 team has a nice mixture of experience and talent with the team’s strength being that it fields one of the frontline pitching staffs in the country. In the circle is a trio of 2022’s who are all Extra Elite 100’s: Alea Johnson (#11, LSIJ commit); Emmah Rolfe (#27, Auburn commit) and Madison Inscoe a#95, uncommitted but being followed heavily by Power 5 schools.

Lining up behind the plate to catch them is a Sam Roe, a Florida commit and the #5 overall ranked player in the 2022 class. This battery helped the Bolts go 14-2-5 playing showcases last fall and eight of the games had shutouts with a strikeout/walk ratio of almost 10:1. Another impressive 2022 who is new to the team is SS Brionna Condon, a South Carolina commit.

Also returning from the freshman class is another pair of 2022 Extra Elite 100’s in slapper Neely Taylor (ranked #40) and IF Ashley Phillips (#78). A key power-generator will be 1B Lindsey Long from Indiana, a talented 2022 slugger. The 2023 class is also loaded with talent including IF/C Katie Flannery (#13 in the Extra Elite 100); MIF Hannah Dorsett (#28) and OF Gracie Hillman (#49).

The team is balanced with speed, good defense and the ability to play small ball to manufacture runs and get the lead to let the shutdown pitching take over. This summer the Alabama-based program will play in five elite events: Scenic City, Bolts 5 Star, Colorado Sparkler, TC/USA Nationals and PGF Nationals. According to Coach

Flannery, “The team will play both 141J and 161J” to get ready for the summer championship run.
